Family of Thakurganj is a much-anticipated movie releasing in July 2019.

• Based on a small north Indian town, the movie has just the right mix of family, love, politics and the lot.
• The movie will showcase issues of family, values, culture and the influence of new thinking on them.
• It is being directed by Manoj K. Jha with Prince Singh as the creative director. One of Manoj K. Jha’s most popular work was ‘Paan Singh Tomar’.
• This movie has been written by Dilip Shukla of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Dabangg’ fame.
• The movie is set to star Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill as the lead actors. Jimmy Shergill was last seen in the Ajay Devgun starrer, ‘De De Pyar De’ back in May 2019 while Mahie Gill was last seen in ‘Apharan – Sabka Katega’, a web series by ALT Balaji, in 2018.
• The movie is being produced by Ajay Singh Rajput.
• Popular actors Saurabh Shukla, Sudhir Pandey and Supriya Pilgaonkar, have also been roped in to play major roles in the movie.
• While Saurabh Shukla as donned on many caps over the years, he was last seen, as an actor in the movie, ‘Fraud Saiyaan’ alongside Arshad Warsi. Actor Supriya Shukla can be seen majorly in the small screen, but her last movie was in the year 2018, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ with Shahid Kapoorand Shraddha Kapoor. Veteran actor Sudhir Pandey was also seen in the same movie in the role of D. N. Pant.
• Producer Ajay Singh Rajput has said that both Jimmy Shergill and Mahie Gill are the perfect cast for the movie. The actor duo was last seen together in the Tigmanshu Dhulia’s hit movie ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’.
• The principal photography for the movie started last year in October, and the majority of the scenes were shot at Lucknow.
• The music for the movie has been composed by the popular duo, Sajid-Wajid and the lyrics for the songs have been written by Sabri. The movie is all set to be released on July 19th.
