Delhi, the capital city of India, is a vibrant city with a rich culture and history. It speckles with numerous majestic monuments, mosques, and forts from the Mughal era. Red Fort

The most well-known monument in Delhi, the Red Fort is a symbol of India's struggle for independence from the British rule. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, this majestic structure gets its name from its red sandstone walls. It houses various museums that display numerous artefacts, and an hour-long light and sound show takes places every evening. Besides this, the Prime Minister hoists the National Flag from Red Fort on Independence Day every year.
Qutab Minar

The tallest brick minaret found anywhere in the world, Qutub Minar depicts the ancient Indo-Islamic architecture and is one of the most famous monuments in Delhi. Built in 1193, the tower has five stories and is adorned with beautiful carvings taken from the holy Quran. Climbing to the top gives a beautiful view of the city.
Humayun's Tomb

Humayun's tomb was built in 1570. This monument houses the remains of Humayun, the second Mughal Emperor. The monument resembles the Taj Mahal a lot as this was the inspiration for Taj Mahal's architecture. Beautiful gardens on all sides also surround the memorial. Today, people visit it during evening time to spend some leisure time with their friends and family.
