Prithvi Festival: Witness theatre like never before

If you are a theatre lover, you must have been introduced to one of the most significant events in the country called the “Prithvi Theatre Festival” by now. An event that started in 1983 is about to celebrate its 30th birthday this time. Well, this year, its bigger and better with some of the most stellar performances of all times. Time is changing, and so are we.

What to look forward to?
Like every year, we promise to bring you some all-time classic plays and many fresh new performances that are ready to sweep you off your feet. Apart from the play line up, there will be a session.  Here some of the most seasoned directors are going to talk their hearts out about their journeys in this field. Excited, aren't you! So are we!!
About our reach
Art is infinite. So why restrict it to a particular place. While our local theatre productions gear up for the festival, we have some super energetic performances coming up from all over the country which includes Pondicherry, Kolkata and many more cities.
Schedule
Spread over 11 days, the festival commences on the 1st of November with Prithvi Theatre in Juhu and Royal Opera House as its main venues. Performances under the direction of Naseeruddin Shah, Piyush Mishra, Makarand Deshpande, Danish Husain, and Faezeh Jalali are surely a delight for every theatre enthusiast.

If watching back-to-back performances is a tad bit heavy for you, hold on for a breather. You can catch up with some live music in between the performances. And the festival whose grand opening is marked by the legend Gurudas Mann, the closing performance is by none other than ‘The Symphony Orchestra of India’.
So keep calm and book your calendars while we rehearse to bring to you something you haven't witnessed before.
