My Spy

Classics and wine are alike- both never lose their charms. The same is right for comedy movies. The master of refreshing concepts and the director of blockbuster movies like 50 First Dates, Anger Management and Second Act, Peter Segal is back with another promising film. My Spy is a kind of comedy-action flick that looks like a whiff of fresh air. This family-friendly movie is a must watch for someone who hasn’t been on a family movie date for a long time.

Starring former WWE superstar, Dave Bautista, and Chloe Coleman, My Spy is a complete package of thrill, perfectlay timed comedy and some harmless swearing. Initially scheduled for release on 23rd August 2019, My Spy will now hit the screens in early 2020. However, the trailer release has garnered good response from fans, leaving them strongly motivated for the actual launch. Viewers can relate the storyline and intensity of My Spy to Kindergarten Cop, starring another action icon-Arnold Schwarzenegger. What makes the flick worth the wait is probably the quirky chemistry between a seasoned wrestler and a child who seems to outwit all his moves.

The story revolves around a  sturdy, emotionless and seasoned CIA agent JJ (Dave Bautista) whose demotion from his position is due to his reckless policies. JJ is sent to spy over the family of a 9-year-old girl, Sophie (Chole Coleman) and little does he realize the trouble he is in. An intelligent and witty Sophie catches JJ red-handed and demands a hefty price for not blowing up his cover. With the condition of getting trained as a spy, Sophie allows JJ to continue his work. But soon JJ realizes that he is in for more than what he bargained. Outrun by Sophie’s wittiness, JJ is continuously on the line of fire, and together they set out to uncover new challenges.

Dave Bautista looks convincing as JJ, helped by his natural physique and a fierce face. With several good movies in his kitties, he is definitely on the run with My Spy. Chole Coleman as Sophie is full of life, managing to keep the story pacey and fun. Expectations are high from this intelligence meets charm meets impeccable amusement riddled movie.
